Improve your English! Learn will and going to forms
Mar 06, 2012
Well hello again guys!
So, let's remind ourselves of what we've learnt. We've done the 4 basic present tenses and the 4 basic past tenses. We have 3 more to do, and we're going to do 2 of them today. Excited?? I am.
9. Future with will
The form is very easy. Will + verb:
I will go to the shops. Or that can be abbreviated to I'll go to the shops.
The world will get poorer. Or The world'll get poorer.
10.going to
Remember to include the be part of the form. This is usually in the present or past. In the present this is am/is/are + going to + verb. In the past this is was/were + going to + verb.
I am going to swim on Saturday. Or in the past I was going to swim on Saturday.
Please remember that this form is always be + going to + verb.
There is difference in form and meaning between I am going to the cinema. and I am going to go to the cinema.
Make sure you know the difference.
So we have just one more basic tense to do, and on Thursday we'll do that and revise the other basic English tenses.
Remember, we are learning the form, not the use. But there is no point in trying to use the tenses unless you know their form well.
